In practicing and cherishing the old, he attains the new; Attaining the new, he reanimates the old. He is indeed a teacher. Herbert Fingarette About Plexus Institute: Plexus Institute is a not-for-profit organization formed in 2001 by a small group of people from diverse backgrounds who shared a commitment to its mission - fostering the health of individuals, families, communities, organizations, and our natural environment by helping people use concepts emerging from the new science of complexity. In the years since its inception, Plexus has created and supported a large and growing learning community. More information about the Institute can be found at www.plexusinstitute.org About the Positive Deviance Initiative: The Positive Deviance Initiative (PDI) was formed in 2001 under the direction of Jerry Sternin. Located at Tufts University School of Nutrition Science and Policy, the PDI is supported by a grant from the Ford Foundation. The objectives of the PDI are to document and share information on current global Positive Deviance projects, to explore new PD applications, and to expand the cadre of PD practitioners and trainers. More information about the Initiative and PD can be found at www.positivedeviance.org About Smart Networks: Smart Networks help us: innovate and solve problems; make complex, difficult systems work more effectively; speed learning and adapting; and, help people to work together in new ways. Networks “naturally” distribute knowledge throughout the organization or community. Through network connections, knowledge “orders itself from the grass roots up for free,” or nearly so. Generally, networks have a core set of “natural innovators” as well as a strategic periphery -- people from the fringe of the network that bring in new ideas. Together, with a little support through network weaving, novel insights and innovations emerge from this fabric. www.networkweaving.com www.orgnet.com More People To Know and Sites To Visit
