Liberating Structures Mash-Ups
Liberating Structures are often mixed-matched-and-mashed-up with other change approaches. This includes but is not limited to Lean, Positive Deviance, Quality Improvement, Appreciative Inquiry, Systems Thinking, and Design Thinking. LS seem to boost many efforts to generate momentum and innovation.
Here is a view of how Design Thinking and LS are similar and different. DT and LS are being mashed-up by the members of the Innovation Learning Network. See a workshop flyer for a Seattle learning event sponsored by OSR at Seattle University. Workshop handout materials that feature innovation concepts and theories underpinning field work.
In US and Canadian efforts to stop the spread of superbugs, LS-Lean-&-Postive Deviance have been used side by side. Interest in LS among Lean practitioners has been strong.
"When Culture Eats Strategy for Lunch" [pictured right] was a mash-up workshop offered to Providence Heatlh System Lean practitioners in 2010.
More mash-up examples coming soon.
